TEACHING
In late August I met with Chris Marks of the Dundas Valley Montessori School about how to introduce / include beekeeping in their program, after emailing back-and-forth a couple of times, wrapping my head around the concept we came up with a bit of a plan, and today I dropped by to introduce myself to the students! Its a very exciting opportunity and a great group of kids! We discussed the basics about beekeeping, why and how I got into it and I showed them some equipment and spoke about basic hive management. We also discussed the possibility of a rooftop hive or a sponsored hive in my beeyard! We’ll see what happens – stay tuned!
I wish I was exposed to things like this when I was their age!
