HARVEST!
Last week I harvested about 120lbs and documented the process… Its all jarred, tagged and ready to go!
This will most likely be the largest harvest this year, don’t miss out email me if you’d like a jar.

Headed out to see the girls on one of the luckiest days of the year! Annnnnnd I was lucky enough to witness something fantastic.
When I got there I was getting things organized in my new beekeeping shed and I could hear the hives from about 20 yards away! Walked up to se an incredible amount of activity so early in the season, when I got closer I saw that they would pulling in lots of pollen… LOTS! Just about every bee had their pollen baskets full.
I hung out for a while and shot a little video. I tried to slow the video down so I could isolate the pollen, have a look, its subtle!

Looks like Spring has arrived, which means that Summer is just around the corner! I’ve been getting ready to get out in the beeyard and have been looking at some of the videos I shot last year – this one deserves a re-post as it is particularly dreamy!

I’ve been taking full advantage of this very October-ish November, the temps have been +10 for a couple of days now, so why not use this time to assemble / paint hives, build frames and hive stands for next year, right? The plan is to expand the operation to somewhere between 6-8 hives for the 2012 season.
